Concert Information

The Sheridan WYO Rodeo announced that the concert lineup for 2010 will feature 4 different bands on two nights. The country concert slated for Saturday, July 10th will feature Rodney Atkins with special guest Jake Owen. Both performers have current hits on the country music charts as well as recent hits over the past few years. “Having two young and fresh artists come to Sheridan of this caliber is great” stated Douglas Meier of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo.

In an effort to reach a wider variety of music fans, the concert series will feature a classic rock concert as well. On Friday, July 9th, classic rock legends “The Marshall Tucker Band and Molly Hatchet” will perform. Both bands have been performing since the 1970’s and have multiple hits between them. “With the southern rock style of both bands, we hope to offer the music fans a choice from the annual country music concerts”. “This is an opportunity to see if the classic rock fan base really wants to see live entertainment in Sheridan” commented Meier, “The costs of bringing in the stage, sound and lights for bands of this caliber are virtually the same for one night or two nights. By doing two nights, we hope to provide a variety of entertainment to the community, split some of the fixed expenses and keep the ticket costs affordable.”

Mars, Inc. and the Gold Buckle Club will once again be sponsoring the event that kicks off rodeo week in Sheridan. Additional sponsors will be announced when tickets go on sale. “This event is designed to bring people to Sheridan and expand the economic impact of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo week. Classic rock or chart topping country, we hope the music fans come out and enjoy a great weekend.” commented Meier.
